Refreshements and Lunches
Refreshements will be available from 28 June to 30 June within the convention center at the coffee break points.

Lunches will be available on 28, 29 and 30 within the convention center.

Access and Roads
The convention center is not far from Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport ( 20 minutes) and from Part-Dieu Station (5 minutes).
A 5 minute connection is guaranteed by direct bus (n°47).

By metro: From Lyon City Center (or "Gare de Perrache"): metro Line A dir. L. Bonnevay, Stop at Foch - bus line 4 dir. Palais des Congrès.


Motorists turning off motorways and ring road are advised to leave exits at :
- Porte St Clair from all directions

Parking
An underground car park for 1 150 vehicles is located below the Convention Center and the office Buildings. A taxi-stand is conveniently situated in the Convention Center forecourt.
An outdoor car park for 425 vehicles close to UGC is also available.


Speakers Preparation
All speakers are asked to check into the preview slide center at least 3 hours prior to their presentation.
Preview slide center will be located in Salon Lumière at Level -1.


PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Banks
Banks in France are usually open from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00 from Monday to Friday.
Banks are closed on Saturday and on Sunday. Exchange facilities are available at the airport and in most hotels.

Car Rental
Car Rental services ( Hertz, Avis etc….) are available at Lyon Saint-Exupery Airport.

Climate
The weather in Lyon in June is usually rather warm.
The daytime temperatures normally range from 14°C to 24°C.

Clothing
Formal dress is required for the Gala Dinner. Casual wear for all the other events and occasions.

Currency
The French currency is Euro ( €). The Euro is currently the official currency for every financial operation.

Credit Cards
Major credit cards (Visa International, Eurocard, Mastercard, American Express) are accepted in stores and restaurants.

Electricity supply
In France electricity is supplied at 240 V / 50 Hz AC

Language
French is spoken throughout France but the official language of the congress will be english.

Passports and Visas
A valid passport or identity card is enough to enter France from most countries (E.U, USA, Canada, Australia …) while a visa is required for citizens of other coutrnies (China, Russia, India etc…)

Pharmacies
The sign for a pharmacy is a green cross on a white background. Each pharmacy displays a card in the window showing the address of the nearest all-night pharmacy.
Most of the pharmacies open at 9:00 to 19:00 from Mondays to Fridays. On Saturday, opening hours are 9:00 to 13:00

Post Office
Opening hours : 8:30 – 18:30, Mondays to Fridays. On Saturday, 8:30 – 12:00

Shopping
Shops open from 9:00 to 19:00 during the week. They are closed on Sunday.

Taxes
French Government legislation states different taxes (from 5,5% to 19,6%) for goods and services.

Tipping
Tips are usually included in bills.

Telephone, telefax and post office services
Public telephones are installed in the Convention Center and facsimile will be available.
Post office time : from 9:00 to 18:30 from Monday to Friday and from 8:30 to 12:00 on Saturday.
