Bringing mobile and wireless technologies closer to people’s needs, making it easier to use by everyone while being optimally connected anywhere and anytime. These are the challenges of European research initiatives of the IST program towards personal and wireless mobile communication systems and networks, including their terrestrial and satellite components. To do so, the European approach is to put the user, people and businesses at the center of future developments of mobile and wireless technologies, and build on progress in areas such as micro and nano electronics and systems.
Following the recent realization of 2003 in Aveiro, the event will take place in Lyon, France, the administrative center of Rhône-Alps area and second economic town of France. Lyon is perfectly located between North and the Mediterranean sea, close to Germany, Switzerland and Italy and at two hours of Paris by high speed train.
